By sanctions you mean nixing a deal to give them 20% of our Uranium production that the Clintons helped set up in the first place?

It's clear that you don't even know wtf you are talking about. Lifting sanctions has always been on the table. That's always been our leverage. Obama was no different.

One thing you can count on for sure and its neither left or right. Putin is enjoying the hell out of the political landscape in the USA right now. He is hoping that the situation devolves into a civil war. At this point, Russia is winning the shadow war and its not even close. Trump, while not a willing participant, continues to stir the pot. He doesn't even have to know his role in order to be an effective component of chaos. He just has to be himself.

Youre clearly the one who is lost here. Obama put the sanctions in place. Trump lobbyed the American public, often like he shoe-horned it in speeches, to lift the sanctions. Congress does not agree.

YOU follow along, Junior. Both Dem and Repub administrations have been trying to normalize relations with Russia since the end of the Cold War. Either admit you are a hack or that you are uninformed, but don't come here and pretend that any of this is exclusive to Trump. That wont work here.

Should we be normalizing relations with a country that just completed a complicated operation to influence our electoral process? If so, what concessions is Trump extracting for normalizing relations? And if this normalization coincides with a degradation of our relations with our allies in Europe, is this a beneficial trade for us?

The investigation is ongoing and the truth will come out. What's concerning to me is the lack of interest on the conservative side to find out the truth. It's like they think nothing happened and continue to dismiss interference as a conspiracy theory. I say this, recognizing that Trump and his team very well may NOT have had contact with the Russians. If Republicans are so virtuous, why the lack of interest in finding out the truth, which will more than likely exonerate Trump & his team?

Two days ago:

U.S. Defense Secretary Jim Mattis said on Monday there was no indication that Russia wanted a positive relationship with the U.S., saying it had chosen to be a strategic competitor.

"At this time ... I do not see any indication that Mr. Putin would want a positive relationship with us. That is not to say we can't get there as we look for common ground," Mattis told a House Armed Services Committee hearing, referring to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"But at this point, he has chosen to be competitive, a strategic competitor with us and we will have to deal with that as we see it," he said.

Joseph Dunford, chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, added that the United States had an adversarial relationship with Russia.

Cute cartoon. Did you miss the part yesterday when Seasions confirmed that Russia interfered in our election? I get it, it's easier to simply say "Muh Russians" than actually seek the truth.

Interfered yes. To what degree? Obama said they did not influence the election at all. So, they attempted to influence, but failed? In an election that took place while Obama was President? Better impeach Trump!

The only left wing conspiracy against Trump is by KFC.
It's a left wing, drumstick, and mashed potato conspiracy.

What does it matter? It changed no votes and you were so confident in Hillary crushing Trump that you made a ban bet with me(That you did honor). Now you are reduced to running with some lame Russian narrative.

You're right, I was surprised. We don't know if or how it influenced the election. But shouldn't we at least be curious when the FBI says it has evidence? Why not let the truth come out to exonerate Trump?

Follow along: The reason it isnt good, aside from Putin being an authoritarian gangster who annexed a country and it trying to violently obtain Ukraine, is that it is glaringly obvious that Trump wanted it so badly. Its at least suspicious.

Follow along, the US forced their own defecting countries to rejoin the Union too.

The Media and Democrats influenced the election more than the Russians did.

Btw, props to you for taking that bet. The odds were stacked against you and you had faith. In all sincerity, congrats on that one...

bullshite. In 2009, Obama scrapped a planned missile defense shield in Eastern Europe to appease Putin. In 2012, he signed new start, dramatically reducing our nuclear defense capabilities against Russia while barely affecting their arsenal. He was also infamously caught unilaterally offering to lift sanctions once he became a lame duck in 2012. In 2013, he rubber stamped the Rosatom deal giving Russia control of 20% of US uranium production. In 2014, he again publicly offered to lift sanctions to get them out of the Ukraine.

You don't know wtf you are talking about.

On 11 September 2014, US President Barack Obama said that the United States would join the EU in imposing tougher sanctions on Russia's financial, energy and defence sectors
