I think it closed down about a year ago.

It might not be the best. However we really enjoy Agave Blue Tequila & Taco Bar.

Since no one has mentioned it: El Tio on Burbank is hands down the best Mexican I've had in BR. Super authentic food and a very friendly staff. They don't serve any booze so it might be best as a lunch spot. Also don't go if you mind being the only white person in there. I usually am when I go

OK so I've tallied the votes and these are the results

Tex Mex Top 3:

1. El Rio Grande
2. Mi Padres
3. Superior

Authentic Top 3:

1. La Tienda
2. La Morenita
3. Lenny's (formerly Burrito)

+1 for Burrito. I think it used to be called Taco y Burrito and half the sign fell down. Either way the food is legit and my second stop when looking for those kind of flavors. First is La Salvadorena, but that's not Mexican, just shares a similar flavor pallete.

How does a white boy who doesn't speak Mexican place his order there? I went in to get a takeout menu, and I couldn't even get that across. Haven't been back.

It's now called Lenny's. Got a legit sign and everything. Haven't been in to know if anything's changed besides the name.

I usually just walk to the counter and order a burrito or quesadilla to keep it simple. They have a translator now too so it's really easy. If you have any patience you should be able to order. Or you can go in and take a seat and they'll bring you a menu and ask what you want to drink like a normal restaurant
