I caught up with the ULL team on a connecting flight from STL-->MSY. We were flying back from our honeymoon and they had just got booted from the CWS. That's the year they all bleached their hair. They also had an asst coach from my HS that I was able to catch up with and talk ball.

That poster also came with a little postcard replica that I still have. It says to order online at www.rickanderson.com or 1-800-827-1164.
Site is still operational. Maybe see if he still has some?

Certainly someone's got this poster that they have no use for, right?

God how I miss the old lettering. This new and more "modern" style of fonts for so many programs that have switched in the recent years past is at times gaudy and really cheesy/corny looking. Really would like to see LSU and some other blue blood programs with classic and more importantly, historically been recognizable logos and lettering at least get some use on everyday uniforms or merchandise like the poster. Id even be good with an alternate type of situation where it's pulled out once or twice a year....I mean if we have to wear those ugly purple football jerseys twice a year, we can do it for baseball too. And I'm sure I'll get bashed for the football jerseys comment but really...they are ugly, yet somehow timeless and just great to see on TV, the announcers always comment on how great they look when we pull them out.

I have one of those. It WAS in mint condition until the fricking flood.
Now I have a 2000 CWS poster with flood damage that now serves as a conversation piece.
Yay?

Why that LSU logo was ever phased out and replaced with fricking Toonces is beyond me.

That CWS was fricking stacked besides San Jose St and USL

Clemson - ULL was probably my favorite in person CWS game. Rained out the day before, extra innings, squeeze play for the winning run, small fight afterwards.

I have one framed that is put up in storage at my parents house that I'll give you. It was the first and only CWS I was fortunate enough to be able to attend. It was displayed in my man cave at my house until I got divorced and moved to Chicago in 2003. I was working offshore while in the middle of that ugly divorce and my ex wife decided to take everything out of the house that wasn't nailed down. I had my Dad go and get all of my LSU and Saints memorabilia to put up at his house so she couldn't run off with it before I got back home. I have since remarried and moved back South in 2005 but I just never got around to picking all that stuff back up. I'll try to get by my parents place in the next week or so and find it for you.
