But he did fail to get a runner on 3rd with less than 2 outs in correct?

People weren't happy with Kramer for doing the same thing. The dps that Kramer and Zach hit into were hard hit...hard to take issue with 2 of your fastest guys hitting the ball right at the SS in those situations...that's baseball.

He had a great hit in the 8th and I thought did everything he could to score in the 7th. I still would like to see him lay off balls low and away especially when he is trying to pull them and anyone who thinks the coaches aren't trying to get him to either lay off those or hit it where it's pitched is crazy. That is why CPM hit and run was brilliant in the the 8th...it forced him to make contact.

So you want Beau up with 2 outs needing to get a run in over anyone else on the team?

Props, but he still does not need to be starting.

Beau has earned the position by coming thru in clutch situations all season

His AB's aren't always the best but he comes through when it matters most

What narrative? Tell me who our weakest hitters are in the starting lineup please.

Over someone like Kramer, you're damn right.

Duplantis and Freeman are the only two I'd prefer, given the numbers.

Fair statement; although, I'm pretty sure if Beau HIDP he wouldn't get a pass.

It wasn't a perfect throw though. It was a good throw, but a little to the right. Anybody even the slightest bit faster would have scored there. The 100% correct call was to pinch run for Beau after the single

You know what I love about comments like this? 95% of the people on here can't run as fast as him. Y'all think he is slow. He may not be as fast as Breaux or Duplantis or Watson, but I can assure you he isn't "slow".
That's a freaking relative term.

Beau gets a lot of heat from the fanbase. But he's a great utility plug and play type guy.

It could be far worse. I don't get all the hate.

Of course. Through 5/21 was batting .450 with RISP and two outs and was in that situation 20 times. The next closest was Duplantis with a 361 BA in the same situation.

Why would you want anybody else? Both he and Duplantis certainly came through last night AND last week end.

probably not. I wouldn't have given him hell for it though.

Breaux is the only player on the bench that could have pinch run for Jordan last night. Is he even on the postseason roster?

As soon as Jordan got on I assumed it was just automatic that he'd get run for. But then I thought-- by who? I have seen literally hundreds of posts saying we have to pinch run there--and like I said, on its face, I agree--but no one has suggested who should have run for him. I literally have seen zero names. Are Coomes or Reid any faster? Romero? A pitcher? Who'm I forgetting?

And on the tag, we just got screwed by where it was hit. As soon as it left the bat, I told my dad "shite, he's got to go, but he's gonna be out."

In that situation down by 1 so late in the game with their guy dealing and the back end of their bullpen, there was no other choice but to
send him. Even though I was pretty positive he was gonna get hosed at the plate, it's still a better percentage than relying on the next guy to get a hit. It was just hit in no man's land. Not Paul's. Beau's, or Cain's fault.

Since you are more concerned with stats than what you have been watching the last month I will ask you this...were we behind or ahead in those games? I mean let's truly break down that 9-20 and find out if they happened when we were up 5 runs, down a run, early in games, late innings with game on the line. Based on what I've seen the last month I want Watson, Robertson, Smith, Freeman, Deichman, and Paps up if its late in the game with the game in doubt and I don't care what the SEASON stats show.

It's not about him vs the rest of our lineup. He's better than the other DH options. On base percentage is good and factors into this.

That is exactly right. It was the right call and Beau made a heck of an effort and almost scored.

Thank goodness he was still in line up in the eighth.
