What happened with Muslims?

I know the attacks have been going on for a while, but it seems that before 9/11 you just didn't hear much about it. You didn't hear about this Sharia Law bullshite either. What has happened to change these people? I'm not so naive to think there weren't attacks before 9/11 but the number seems to have increased substantially.

I'll try to summarize it based on your OP.
After 9/11, it became a bit of a topic in the US because we had it happen on our homeland.
Once the left realized our retaliation for 9/11 could be politicized for their gain (despite the fact that their leaders legally voted for said retaliation), you started hearing more and more about it.
Fast forward to today where now we have a media and globalist entity that is full blown support of the Muslim extremists due to their similar desire to destroy the West.
Now the average American is VERY in tune to it either supporting it, or against it. Since 2011 it is a lot easier to get your hands on news about the latest terrorist attack in X country. They happen so often that it is hard to keep up. Couple that with the left's insistence on not only defending them, but trying to equate their political enemy to them, and voila...

Yes it's been an issue for a while. Have you ever seen the movie True Lies? That movie came out in 1994.
Do you know the scene where the terrorist is talking into the camera and making his ransom video? It sounds just like Bin Laden's fatwa. So we have known about it for a long time even before 9/11.

The Western supported 'tyrannical dictator boot' came off the neck of Fundamentalist Islam with the fall of the Shah of Iran. That is pretty much when what we call "Radical Islam"...and what Islam calls genuine purist Islam...rose to the World Stage to challenge the un-genuine Muslims for Ideological authority. Arab Spring topped off the continuing hegemony, which the Trump Adm. has now challenged.
A Muslim has two choices...when Fundamentalist wave the ORIGINAL Words/Actions of Muhammad in their faces...agree or disagree. Disagreement is highly problematic, and life threatening in Countries where the Islamist exist.

They had attenpted to bomb the WTC under Clinton. 9/11 wasn't their first rodeo. Clinton just didn't take them seriously at all and even let Osama Bin Laden leave the country scot free
