Yes, I would have, with no hesitation. Not everyone is afraid to get their hands dirty from time to time when necessary.

Why not?
Self defense alone would lead my hands to the dogs throat. They would probably take the animal from me before it expired, but it would definitely be my natural reaction. Is allowing the dog to dine on your face a better option?

I know I would have tried. I'm so tired of people acting like their dogs are people. If a dog bit my face or the face of a loved one while on a flight, I would have punted that bitch into next week. I have no problem teaching an animal the rules of the world when they attack.
