Congrats on moving to an area completely void of culture you pasty frick. You will become a painfully boring person within just a few years. After that time the cravings for something colorful in your life will be unbearable.

Actually, that is not the worst idea. I did that for awhile near there. It was quite peaceful.

You don't have to go to Montana for those, they have them in OK

Right but it was first place I saw them ~ Thanksgiving 2000.
I think they are based out of Des Moines.

I know Poet lives in Montana but not sure where. I asked her to chime in on this thread.

Yep, Bozeman.

I agree with HoustonChick. Live where you can afford based on what suits you. There's not a bad neighborhood in town and you have distinct options if you're a new house person or an old house person. There's plenty of decent food and lots of great craft beer. If you like good ethnic food, the choices are slim but overall Bozeman is a great town. It's hard to go wrong.

Definitely enjoyed plenty of these when I was there last Summer. I think we hit up all the breweries in town plus a few distilleries.

There are (I think) 11 craft breweries in a town of roughly 40k people.

Let's see... we went to:

406 Brewing
Bozeman Brewing (been there a few times now)
Bridger Brewing
Bunkhouse Brewing
Outlaw Brewing
MAP Brewing
White Dog Brewing

Also went a cider place downtown that was really cool.

If there were more open back then, I didn't heat about them.

Cafe Zydeco

Local kid from Abbeville moved to Bozeman years ago chasing oilfield work. Missed the South LA food and decided to open a small Cajun restaurant. He now has 4 locations in MT, and serves gumbo, etoufee, jambalaya, po-boys, seafood, red beans and rice, etc....

My younger sister (no pictures) just graduated with her masters from University of Montana last month. When I was in Missoula for her graduation we decided to go to Café Zydeco one night and it was pretty good.

Rock Creek Lodge's world famous "Testicle Festival" (Photos on website NSFW)

Everyone needs to hit this lovely Festival as the eye Candy is out of control.

Serious question- what do people do for work in Bozeman and Montana in general?
