Crosby should have been kicked to the side of the curb after the London election

It never really mattered if they lost seats or not. The Ulster Unionists would always be there to shore up the Tories.
No. This is wrong. DUP was treated like a pariah and nobody really ever had this in the back of their mind. This DUP alliance is a desperate times/desperate measures type of thing. It must be remembered that DUP has strong terrorist ties. This is also huge in messing up the peace process (now the UK government can't say they are impartial). Also, DUP is anti-homosexual and is now causing friction with a resurgent Scot Conservative Party led by a lesbian veteran. Need I remind you, that it was Ruth Davidsons (the lesbian) leadership in Scotland that saved the Tories last night. If it wasn't for her, the Tories would have fared much worse.
This is a very tenuous alliance. One that was never seen as a fallback.

Also, the DUP caused Stormont to collapse back in January due to Foster being corrupt as frick. They lost their majority in Stormont in the resultant elections for the first time, and Sinn Fein is having a great time fricking things up, even getting some respect from anti-SF Republicans. There's probably going to have to be more elections in the O6 in a few months because of that, unless the Tories put a shite-ton of pressure on Foster to get something hammered out quickly to get that distraction out of the way.
