Wilbur Smith - Assegai
Really anything by Wilbur smith, he's like Hemingway and 50 Shade of grey combined. Good quick reads about Africa (from every era - Pharoah Egypt to modern day, and he doesn't mince the sex, the hunts or the violence).

Wilbur Smith is one of my favorites. Assagai imo his best.
