The Saints are bringing back a familiar face on the offensive line.
After a successful tryout at rookie minicamp earlier this month, veteran offensive tackle Bryce Harris agreed to terms with the Saints, a source told The Advocate on Monday.
New Orleans waived defensive back Forrest Hightower, who was signed out of the Canadian Football League this offseason, to create a roster spot.
Harris played for the Saints from 2012-14. He appeared in all 16 games in 2013 and 2014, starting three contests. He spent time with Miami, Jacksonville and Atlanta in the past three seasons.
New Orleans invited several veteran players to rookie minicamp. It also agreed to terms with veteran offensive lineman Khalif Barnes and tight end Clay Harbor.

With bringing back both Barnes and Harris it's making me wonder if Strief may get the axe before long.
Seems odd to have Strief, Ramcyzk, and then bring in two vets at RT on top of that unless the plan is to roll with Ram and either Barnes or Harris as the backup.

you shouldn't want to see Bryce Harris touch the field ever again guy is a turnstile

I know, which is why it's curious we are bringing him and Barnes in.
The only other thing I can think of is maybe they need bodies for OTAs because Ramcyzk isn't quite ready to go yet. He's ahead of schedule but I think they said he's shooting for training camp.
Still seems weird to bring in both guys though, instead of just one.

I think the coaching staff likes Barnes' versatility and experience. I have no idea why they brought Harris back. Not giving me a warm and fuzzy feeling about our offensive line.

Just when we get rid of Lelito, we bring back this bum. Thankfully, short of injury (knock on wood) he'll be cut before long.

plus you really don't want a lot of training camp mileage on strief at this point.

Yeah that's a good point. Just enough to stay in shape and keep rhythm.

Peyton liked Bryce Harris when he was here. It will come down to him or Barnes and the one that does stay will be the emergency lineman for the yr

Perfect as a camp player with him being familiar with the offense already.

Camp player. He doesn't belong on NFL field
