heard they ticketed quite a few this weekend. Pretty lame to just up and decide to start ticketing for something when it's been permitted for so many years now.

I was walking down third with a styrofoam cup and a couple of employees oh Happys told me BRPD was giving tickets for open containers and to be careful. Also said they had been fined $3400 for letting people leave with drinks.

In any event, downtown was dead. So BRPD isn't helping business.

I was down there on Thursday and the cops were making the rounds telling the bars they were going to start enforcing open container.

What is their reason for all of the sudden doing this? Pretty ridiculous... I'm assumig it has something to do with Broome.

Why would open containers be overlooked by police?

Mrs rattlebucket and i were at tsunami until 9 and then went to lava something on friday. I noticed the signs and didnt realize downtown br had laws against open container. Cops everywhere and I indeed saw folks openly holding beer cans on the street. The only police action was when some fine citizens decided to act cray on the 4th floor of the shaw building.
