So how long are these threads going to keep popping up?
I'm guessing every shooting over the next year will be followed up by two or three threads about statues.
Going to be a long year. LOL

Probably longer than the made up angst about statues having been bothering folks in NO.

So, like 6 months or less.

I agree with both sides. The crimes will not stop, statues or no statues. Let's not wear it out.

How long were the memorials to those that died fighting for a cause up before they were removed?

Or maybe ML and his associates could have handled this with a little more tact, a little more planning and a little less drama. More time and effort and spending were put into this project than any real efforts to stem the tide of crime and murder and drug use and improve the economic structure (the real issues affecting NOLA).

Apparently ML had the right to unilaterally make these choices, and people have the right to criticize him for it.

All of this grandstanding, and the city is effectively no better for it. Some people have the feel-goods now, but that won't stop all these Tyrone McShitbones from murdering more people at a faster clip than almost anywhere in the nation.
