Thinking he was ""camouflaged"" by standing in front of a set of curtains
You think "camouflaged by standing in front of a set of curtains" was hyperbole?
quote:
The former FBI director had been trying to “blend in” near the curtains, which matched the similar blue color of his blazer.
Wittes, however, said at 6-foot-8-inches, it’s difficult to remain hidden for long. Nevertheless, Wittes said Comey had tried to act like a “chameleon” and use “camouflage.”
quote:
There Comey is (tall guy, center-frame, in front of the window) "trying to 'blend in' near the curtains, which matched the similar blue color of his blazer."
So in his near-perfect camouflage, Comey is hiding front-and-center. He is standing right next to Secretary of Homeland Security General John Kelly. General Kelly is being called forward for a personal thank-you by the President.
Perhaps you thought Comey was politically neutral too?
quote:
he saw it as an ongoing task on his part to protect the rest of the Bureau from improper contacts and interferences from a group of people he did not regard as honorable. This was a general preoccupation of Comey’s in the months he and Trump overlapped—and the difference between this relationship and his regard for Obama (which was deep) was profound and palpable.
