that's wrong. If Florida wins they would be 21-9 and have a higher winning %. (We would be 20-9).

You are correct. LSU needs Kentucky to win and LSU needs to win or get rained out. If Florida wins and LSU wins we share the title and if LSU doesn't play and UF wins UF would win the title.

When I first read Dandy's I though he had the records wrong but I think he just messed up in his article because he only mentions Kentucky when talking about winning the outright SEC with a rainout.

From Dandy:
quote:

If LSU wins today’s game over Mississippi State, the Tigers would claim at least a share of the overall SEC championship. If LSU wins and Florida loses to Kentucky, the Tigers would be the outright SEC champions. And get this: Since the SEC title is determined by winning percentage, a rain-out of the LSU-MSU game would result in LSU being the SEC champs even if Kentucky wins since LSU would be 20-9 and Kentucky would be 20-10.

His statement about Kentucky is correct. If he meant UF also, which I don't think he does, he would be incorrect.

BOTTOM LINE: LSU needs Kentucky to beat Florida. LSU needs to beat MSU or be rained out.

How ironic would it be if LSU wins the SEC because of a rainout?
