Fiola Mara in Georgetown is great. Right on the water, awesome food etc. Martin's tavern is more reasonably priced, but great atmosphere.
Library of Congress is sort of an underrated stop we usually bring family to see. As others have said, monuments at night, Newseum, Spy Museum are all cool places.
