penn hotel

Paul Kidd's family recently renovated the Penn Hotel into upscale condos. They're pretty nice.

CB radio? You mustve been a 79 or so graduate. My oldest brother graduated OPHS in 79

Anyone remember the Dinner Bell or the boarding house near downtown. Both had awesome home cooked meals.

Gunby dining hall was the one close to Sandal Library. Cone cafeteria was across from the then infirmary. Took the footbridge from Hudson ti eat there during Sr year.

How about Barkers Sept store on Louisville? The Watering Hole #1,2,& 3? The streaking parade during midterms Sp 74? An idiot dean of men named Nick Lassiter? He was too stupid to understand he was stupid. Bruce Wheeler and the SGA? Served on that. Fun times. Nice private frick club.

Olin Hall only had 11 floors not 20. However, if you lived on one of the top floors you got good TV reception. Also remember the binicukar/telescope bunch who would get together late at night. Girls in girls dorms pulled up the blinds and would put on one hell of a show for you.

demanded a meeting with me to demand that i move onto campus because i was living in my family home alone when they moved away temporarily. half-way through the meeting, he finally looked at my records, noticed i was part time, and emphatically told me that i was not allowed to live on campus unless i was full time.

OK, thanks for the info arse clown.

I heard Lanny James on the radio a month or so back. Couldn't believe my ears when that same old song from his Friday night HS football show started playing.

Wasn't Lanny sponsored by Hanelines? They must have let him pick out a new leather jacket and a couple of turtlenecks every year. When I was a sophomore in h.s., my 2A team played Carroll in the Optimist Toy Bowl. Lanny came and did a report from our practice. Him being there was a pretty big deal for everyone in town.

West Monroe smells like rotten egg farts .

All paper mill towns smell like that. When we lived in Vidalia and my dad worked across the river at the IP mill, he always said it smelled like pay day.

The terror of Dr. DeGennerao and bittersweet memories of Sugar Hall. Good times.

I have the last INDIANS T-shirt before they changed the mascot.

Olin Hall

When I got there no one was living on the 11th floor (except at the beginning of the semester, the school would put people up there until room assignments got completed).

I had a friend who rigged up some bungee cables at the corner nearest the bridge one night and would fire off 3-liter plastic bottled filled with water into the bayou near the bridge as people walked by at night. Scared the shite out of them every time

One of my best friends lived on the back side. When the new members of the ski team were being introduced to the ramp we would hang out and watch them practice. It sounded like a rifle going off when those skis hit the water.

Good times...

Saw Judy Waggoner a couple of years back. In her day, she definitely had the ole bitch in heat look. Supposedly got into an affair with Lanny James at one point. Anyway, the plastic has started to melt. Warranty has gone out on that girl. However, she's still in denial.
