Mets have discussed promoting Tim Tebow within the minors, but will likely wait until midseason. He's hitting .327 over his last 16 games.

Tebow, for his part, has performed better than you would expect for someone with limited exposure to professional pitchers. He entered Friday hitting .250/.330/.370 in 112 plate appearances. The usual caveats apply -- yes, he's 29 on a team where the next-oldest regular is 22; yes, there are significant reasons to doubt his ability to have a meaningful big-league career; and so on -- but it's fair to write that nobody expected him to produce the second-best OPS on the team among qualifiers.

It's getting real now.

He sells tickets. Makes sense to promote.

It's crazy to think about how good Tebow would've been if he had chosen baseball. I thought no way in hell he would even be ok in the minor leagues. He can't be any worse than Granderson has been this year.

You have to admire his determination.

I don't know why people have to be so negative about someone going after something and trying to make something happen.
Many people here are like that cliche character in movies that keep telling the main character that they'll never amount to anything and they should quit and give up.
It baffles me why people who go after something they want get such a bitter reaction out of people.

If .700 is the 2nd best OPS on the team does his team just suck shite?

Told everyone his swing is much smoother now

Isn't "call-up" reserved for getting called up to the Majors? I have never heard someone being "called-up" to single A ball.
Your title is misleading and on par with shitty click bait journalism

What level is St. Lucie? Rookie league? A?

They should just promoted him to big league bullpen catcher/team Chaplain. Matt Harvey needs some Jesus in his life.

Im pulling for him, but i think AA pitching will eat him up. Single A is a lot of raw but talented guys picked out of high school to try to learn the game and see how they develop.

I'm not gonna lie, if they promote him to the majors, I'll tune in.
