My dad (75) sold his house, 5th-wheel, second truck, and 40 acre hunting camp and built a bad arse 2 bedroom 1 full bath, kitchen, living room, wrap around porch houseboat and has been living in it for 3 years now. He loves it and we love visiting him and staying out in the bayou.

I have been looking at them in Texas. I can get a decent one for around 45-50k. With all the time I will be spending on the rig renting a 1500$ apartment or house just seems stupid for 1 week out of the month. With this route it would feel more like a vacation when off. Looking at lake travis or conroe
