Cutting cord and getting SlingTV...any advice?

How do you fine folks like Sling?
We currently have U-Verse and the internet + TV + landline (which only receives calls from telemarketers) is $249/month.
Internet + Sling (with the extra channels we want) + Amazon Prime + Netflix will be less than $100/month.
Is this a bad idea?
What are the pitfalls?

You'll be 15-30 seconds behind live TV, but otherwise it's great.

I like Sling, no contract and decent showing of channels. Make sure you have a high speed internet, mine never buffers.

Choose wisely the person whom you ask for their credentials to WatchESPN, HBOgo, etc. Because we all know that's how "cord cutters" get by.

We had sling tv + the sports package which is only $20 + $5 for a year and I actually kept it when we moved to put on my office tv.
Pro's - Assuming you have a strong internet connection and roku/firestick/appletv/chromecast its incredibly cheaper than cable for the main channels it offers.
For a person who watches tv 1-2 hours a night it's all you need.
Con's - Only access to one tv
Didn't have CBS which was annoying at times during football and basketball.

I have PS Vue and I'm very pleased. I've heard good things about Sling. Go to Tech Board and search 'Sling'.

I've had both sling and PS vue and PS Vue blows sling out of the water.
Vue has cloud DVR and TONS more channels

I can think of a place where you can find 49 pages of relevant advice

I have heard that cutting the cord requires a good internet connection from some where. Does this "sling" provide this?

only advice I have is that last time I tried SlingTV, you do not get SECN+ through watchespn. You can only watch regular SECN.

I also have a thread discussing different services to read over in tech.

My only advice is get PSVue instead of Sling

Congrats on the ads, buffers, and headaches

I've got U-200 and their middle tier internet for $135/mo after tax. And I'm only on a "lifetime promotion" for $20 off internet.

Sling is OK. I switched to PS Vue because it carries Fox News.
Get an HD antenna for your local channels.

If you're like me and you like to flip around all the college football games every Saturday, SlingTV is not a viable option. It's slow and clunky. Youll end up just keeping it on one game. Maybe I'm weird, I flip through about 6 games at a time except for LSU.
