Like the guy that recommended this ENT to me because we had almost identical symptoms and his UPPP and tonsillectomy he said was a horrible recovery but life changing? Along with my dad who had it done. I wouldn't be going through with it if I didn't think it would help. In fact, everything I've read said to expect the worst recovery period but after a couple of weeks you feel great.

And this is my 3rd opinion. I went to a group of ENT's a few years ago and one of them referred me to the other for surgery. The old guy only did clinic and no surgeries, so referred me to his partner that did surgeries. He didn't think I needed it. Told me to take Claritin and Flonase, and said I have acid reflux. I may have heartburn once or twice a week, so a couple years later with no relief, I started looking for a new doctor.

This new ENT wanted me to get the sleep study done, did a CT scan to look for sinus issues, and wanted me to exhaust all other options before surgery. It wasn't sinus related, he told me to quit the allergy medicines as they were doing nothing. I also did allergy testing there. All came back negative. He even said if I could tolerate CPAP and if it alleviated it, he wouldn't recommend surgery. That being said, he told me I was a good candidate for the surgery. Laid out all the options, told me about recovery, and said there are very few people he would recommend this to. But I'm apparently a good candidate and if I was up for it we would do it.
