Had my tonsils and uvula removed when I was 33. Also septoplasty and turbinectomy. Only time I said the "F" word in front of my folks. Lost a good bit of weight because I could only swallow a few times after I put down a couple of teaspoons of liquid lortab which was no easy task. With that being said I'm glad i did it bec of the relief I received. It's gonna hurt!

That sucks. Kids are a blessing. Maybe you can adopt.

I had that done back in the summer of 2000. I had a bad deviated septum, and they did some sinus work as well. Slept in a recliner for a week, with a squirt bottle of water by my side. I would wake up with my throat so dry I couldn't breathe. And I couldn't just sip, I needed to blast my throat with water and then I could swallow. Eating wasn't bad, it was just the mouth breathing at night since I had so much packing stuffed up my nose.

Yeah, the ENT told me yesterday to expect to lose about 10-12 lbs, and some lose up to 15. Also told me that if I could keep that off after the surgery it would be so much better and make him look like a great surgeon. Honestly I could stand to lose about 20-25 so this will be a kickstart to that as well.

That's what I'm hoping. My options were CPAP or surgery, and many have told me I'm crazy for not just using the machine, but I'd rather suffer for a couple of weeks than fight a machine to sleep with every single night.
