There is no Democrats party right now. It is a leftist party not resembling anything like the Democrats of even 15 years ago.

When you boil it down,

quote:

if we hadn't been caught lying, we'd be running the country right now

Is absolutely what the Dems have been saying about 2016.

IMHO, Lifelong Democrats should take a close look at this party of theirs. Look at their tactics, look at their world view and try to see their long-term objectives.

If they take an honest and thoughtful look at that, they would realize that the Democrats are against the Judeao-Christian God, against US nationalism, against Capitalism, against the US Constitution (to the extend that it limits FedGov power) and against fair elections.

They are in favor of Totalitarian methods to seize and maintain political power in order to transform the USA into a "servant state" of the Globalists.

This "servant state" will generate wealth to be re-distributed internationally by sending it abroad or by bringing the recipients to live in the USA. This "servant state" will also maintain a strong military to fight the wars deemed necessary by the Globalists.

Once the facts are objectively and thoughtfully considered, this is the conclusion that logic dictates.

I'm a lifelong registered Dem that's moving independent...

...the party doesn't reflect my values anymore and is no longer trying to be pragmatic.

not only are democrats out of touch as the man says, the democrats have no interest in being in touch. they have a false narrative and they cling to it as if it's a religion.

THE DEMOGRAPHIC TIPPING POINT!

this belief that they can cobble together a coalition of fruits and nuts and over come a 70% majority of whites to win in perpetuity. that's pure sophistry. it may work with the popular vote but we don't elect the presidency on the popular vote. take a look at that graph.

3.9 million babies born in the US annually and over half are white. we're going to be the majority for a long time.

obama won the popular vote in 2012 by 5 million votes. his popular vote margin in california was 3 million votes in new york two million votes any of that sound familiar?

obama won the presidency in 2012 because he over performed his national average of 40% among white voters in the mid west. performing into the low to mid 40's. clinton under performed her national average of 41% of white voters in the mid west performing in the 35-38% range. handing the victory to trump.

the other problem is that minorities are not evenly distributed in the united states they are disproportionately distributed in red states and a state turns red when 60% of the white vote or more accrues to the republican party and they tend to stay red. mississippi has the largest percentage of blacks in the country at 33% but 90% of whites in mississippi vote reliably republican.

the reason you don't play identity politics is because there was always the risk of creating a solid white voting bloc.

we are now there.

if your battle cry is "sex is between your legs and gender is between your ears!" you're not going to attract the number of people needed to win elections no matter how many times you call those people haters.

The sign that a given party in any democratic country is in dire need of rethinking what they are doing is when average, middle of the road, people begin saying things like "I didn't leave the Party, the Party left me."

It is most certainly happening to the Democrats right now, just as it has happened to the Republicans and Democrats in the past.

Policies that might be super appealing to folks in California might not sound so thrilling to folks in Iowa, and vice versa. What a party needs to be successful are policies that appeal to the entire country.

If the Democrats start concentrating on the concerns of middle America and making an effort to improve their lives they could reverse all of this in 8 years time.

Unfortunately for them right now they are stuck in the old saying "when you find yourself in a hole... stop digging" and they just can't bring themselves to put down that shovel.

I think at the end of 4 yrs, guys like him will be firmly behind trump over whoever the liberals try to shove in the race.
That's why republicans won't totally back trump, Hess to much to center for them. But in the end, it will position trump for these crossover votes and guarantee him another 4 yrs.

Democrats are incapable of doing a postmortem. They are still blaming the Russians for Hillary being a horrible candidate.

And they have a major credibility problem with their own voters. No one in the right mind would trust that party to even host a primary anymore.

I started a thread about a major Hillary gaffe that is suspected of costing her a good bit of undecided voters. The usual suspects couldn't even comment in the thread. If a non-political person can't name a single thing on your candidate's platform, it's a problem. Especially when facing a media whore like Donald Trump, who is capable and willing to define his opponents in whatever way he damn well pleases.

Democrats were right in choosing Obama over Hillary in 2008. They screwed up by stomping out the populist movement via a rigged primary in 2016. They let Trump define their party for the next 8 years.

Their intent on the Obama Socialist transformation. They don't care that the "ignorant/backward" half of the nation is dead set against said transformation.
