James Moran? @SmartestMoran 3m3 minutes ago

Paul Mainieri asked if he considered pinch hitting for Slaughter.

Paraphrasing, he said Slaughter has been a good fastball hitter.

And he can't say he didn't have no one to play first if we got to the 10th. Hey Pawl u had Deichman or Woley. 45 minutes now and I still can't believe he let Slaughter bat Pawl just stealing money now

Woley has played first.

ETA: But like you said, we had options. Templet or Adams are others.

Of the 38 years I've been going to these games and had season tickets. This one really gets me. Pisses me off. There's is no way u can let Slaughter bat in that situation.

I at least get sticking with romero in the 8th. Dude usually crushes fastballs. But i cant remember the last time slaughter even put a ball in play.

Also this has nothing to do with slaughter this is all on Pawl all those base runners in this game and runners at 3rd and he can't find away to score 1 run to tie the game Then he tops it off by letting Slaughter bat with the game on the line with at least 4 capable better options on the bench? What has Woley done that he can't even manage to get an ab anymore.

Slaughter has 1 hit in his last 16 at bats with 5 k's. He has struck out his last 3 at bats. I haven't seen where his defense is that much better than coomes and his speed doesn't make up that much of a difference either. But I hate blaming the entire loss on the kid because this game was lost in previous innings when they could not score with runners on 3rd and less than 2 outs. Deichman swung at the 1st pitch and hit into a double play and Romero popped up to the catcher. Watson is lost at the plate with runners on base. Just too many easy outs throughout the lineup. Pitchers easily pitch around guys to get the matchups they want. The Romero magic from last year is gone and coomes needs to stay in the game It's not difficult.

Yeah, at this point the dh should be a revolving door and reid should be given opportunities

We're going to fight. Woley, Beau, Romero. Reid couldn't touch UGA's 94 mph guy. Why anyone thinks he could hit 98 is beyond me.

He has hit flame throwers just last year. He didnt hit the guy against georgia, but stepped up there and pt together a great at bat against arkys flamethrowing closer. He has shown multiple times through the last year and a half that he wont get himself out against good pitching

He puts together good at bats. You really dont remember him hitting guys throwing in the mid 90s last year?

I remember him getting jammed often with soft ground balls getting through. He's 3 for 19 with 3 singles and 5 Ks. Come on Josh, what he did last year was a fluke. He got a ton of fastballs and a lot of garbage time hits when they didn't matter.
