Looking to purchase of these. I have been going back and forth on both of them. I have watched countless reviews and they all pretty much say the same thing, half like one the other half likes the other.

Who has either one and is it worth it?

if you have a newer model android phone, you may be able to preview home on the phone itself with the latest update.

where is your music library? i'm not sure alexa hooks up to anything but amazon prime music so there's a decision point.

so far they're very similar to me but because my phone has to be on, i'm not giving 'home' a fair shake.

i have a google home but now your phones are basically a google home. i like having the stand alone speaker in the kitchen but its nice basically having a second google home in the bedroom.

I've had my Google Home since Christmas and while good it's certainly not flawless.

o It has locked up three or four times and I've had to cycle power.

o Several times I've had to repeat commands after GH has acknowledged receiving but then can't execute them.

o A few days ago when it starting playing music the volume was much higher than where I listen.

Good thread idea.

I finally want to get into this game, but yeah, there doesn't seem to be a clear leader.

I think Amazon is more useful overall, and I find them less scary than Google in general.

I'd like a really great third option that works with both somehow, but I doubt that happens. I'm interested to see what Microsoft does with Cortana though. I think I want the Show, but I'll give it a few months.
