Is anyone here in the foreclosure preservation industry

I am looking to get into the construction industry while going to school.
I kept seeing a preservation ad on indeed.com so I called on a subcontractor position with a REO preservation company and I am just wanting to get some insight from someone in the industry before I pull the trigger.
1099, I provide tools, payout received is 55% of bank payment, 60mi working radius.
I cant find any negatives or scam stories online other than some companies requiring a rediculous amount of callbacks for more pictures and not paying on time.

Foreclosure preservation or foreclosure prevention?
I would assume a contractor on REO properties is going to be doing mainly small repairs, winterizing, lawn maintenance, securing the property, etc.
May not be a bad way to earn a couple bucks while in school and learning a bit about construction/housing industry.

I've got a friend that is a vendor for several of the big companies in multiple states.
It is a pita, but there is money to be made.
