I'm ready for us to crush the 10 games over .500 mark. 2 years ago we would get there and never break through. If we have another month like April we will run and hide in the division. The team really isn't even playing great baseball. Lots of poor baserunning and defensive lapses and horrible at bats in RISP situations. And somehow still 9 games over.

14 game over was our high water mark in '15, seemed like we got there 50 times and couldn't win

Anyone have a video of the rangers broadcast calling the slam?

Dave Raymond had the sad. Big time. Like his dog died at the hands of Marwin Gonzalez.

Then there was what seemed like about a minute of silence in the booth before he pulled himself back together.

You do know that that is part of baseball, right? All teams do this. Again, game of failure. Whomever fails less, wins. I guess I can understand the intense dissection of every move that this team makes because most here are inundated with every play/decision.

I understand your post. Just remember, it's not like they are the only team in the league that does things like this. Their record indicates they do it a whole lot less than these threads give them shite for every day. It'll never be perfect. Ever.

The good news, we have worn their bullpen down.

I kinda enjoy seeing their bullpen. Maybe the Astros can figure out a way to even score off of Sam Dyson if he pitches again.

Bad news is, high chance we throw sipp in one of these next two games.

I still wonder who Sipp has nudes of that he is holding over their head...like Jordan Jefferson/Les Miles.

Big Jim Hoyt looked pretty good last night. A big two innings from him.

Hope he can continue to build confidence and take a step like devenski did. Gregerson is a freaking enigma right now.

Here's a polarizing question for us to discuss: IF (big if) the Rangers are out of contention and sellers at the deadline, would you be willing to trade with them for Darvish? He is a free agent after this season.

Ignoring how much it would cost, btw. Simply, would you be willing to make a trade with the Rangers, possibly improving their outlook for the future, for a chance to go for it this year?

Depends on the cost and darvish has a history of bad health. I would prefer not to deal with them and it's unlikely Daniels would want to help Houston win a title.

Should be some good names out there. I hope lunhow is aggressive and doesn't wait until the deadline.

I get it. I know we focus more on our on team and pick them apart more than the other teams. It just seems to me when you watch teams that win championships and routinely compete for championships they don't do dumb shut and give away outs on a constant basis.

Darvish just came to mind as probably the best rental option, if the costs for controlled starters is still too high for Luhnow.

For tonight, I just want two things:

- another Astros win.
- MOAR Gomez Ks to end the game.

If I'm lunhow I'm making Kyle Tucker untouchable and everyone else in the minors is available. I would to see us add a TOR starter and a plus lefty bullpen arm

If Toronto never gets into the pennant race, Marco Estrada would be someone interesting. (Heard on MLB Network that he might be a piece at the deadline)

I identified Estrada last week as the rental guy who makes the most sense. And if we go for a guy with some control, gotta call the Pirates on Gerrit Cole.

I could see the Rangers dealing Darvish to the Astors, but saying "We will send you Darvish.....but you have to take Gomez back too"

But I digress. I would do that deal, as long as not a ridiculous price is asked....but there are other better options out there. I agree with the concept of snagging a Toronto pitcher later when they are floundering.

Your average travel ball team could wear the Rangers' "bullpen" (quotes intentional) down.

Plus they have the secret weapon--Jon the Moron Daniels, who thinks that one trade (Elvis Andrus) and one FA signing (Beltre--you weren't thinking Yu, were you?) makes him hot poop on a silver platter.

Darvish isn't suited for the AL. Remember he has NO complete games in his MLB career. That will wear down your bullpen.

Plus his career record against division rival Oakland is a disaster.

You might do better going for Hamels (and his record within the AL isn't all that great, so that's a big IF).

From another site:

Mike Fiers averaging 5 innings a start.

Mike Fiers has allowed 24 fly balls this season. 12 of those have left the yard.

Hitters are 1-22 with RISP against Mike Fiers. (and 0-7 with 2 outs).

Leadoff hitters in an inning are 9-22 with 7 bombs and 4 BBs against Mike Fiers.

Translation: Mike Fiers makes no sense.
