Not usually, when a street name is changed the post office and the parcel services use both names for a long while.
Historically streets have been changed in the city after being known as one thing for a long time. Jeff Davis was Hagan avenue and Lee Circle was long Tivoli circle and MLK used to be Melpomene ave.
