High School Baseball playoffs.....

are now best of 3 series.
Many High School vs. Mamou High school(home team for game 2)
Weathers gets awful in the fifth, they play through all weather to complete the 5th(Many has a tarp capable of covering the entire infield but never even attempt to use it). Many is winning 1-0 after 5 completed(now 1:50 P.M.). Lightening starts so players go to their dugouts for the delay. Minutes later they call the game after 5 innings completed. Mamou is eliminated and sent home.
What are y'all opinions about that Head Coach never covering the field, if they were down 1-0 no one can tell me he wouldn't have went to all extremes to cover or complete it. How to you make that decision at 2 pm with the rest of the day and Sunday to potentially complete that game?
I have zero connection to the game but i grew up loving the game of baseball and i do indeed believe it can teach you a lot about life...... I feel Many handled that situation about as classless as it possibly gets.
I cant imagine being a Senior and sent home for a game that isn't even completed. It's just a game and it's not the end of the world but to work all season only to take an L in 5 when down by 1 run is pretty crappy.
Thoughts/Opinions?? (i know t his post was too long)

It's called home field advantage

Whoever named that city is an a-hole. Made it damn near impossible to read your question without being confused.
To answer your question, I think it's pretty bush league. Baseball is one of those games of unwritten rules, and I'd imagine most would consider it classless to do this. I could understand if it was 10-0 in a mid-season game, but in the playoffs this is BS. Finish the damn game.

The tarp wouldn't have impacted the lightning delay/cancellation.

It's not like it was a travel ball or all star type team. I thought high school team baseball had become obsolete?

Sometimes it's too late and the damage is done and the tarp wouldn't have done any good.

They obviously DGAF about the kids anyway if there was a lightning delay and they left them in the dugouts

Agree with poster above: home field advantage. The weather rules are in the rule book and it seems as though they followed the rule correctly. I don't like it though.

I doubt Many AD and baseball coach had much influence on the game being called...I would think that would come down from LHSAA

Mamou should have won game 1! Many coach did his job to get HIS team to the next round. If LHSAA wants it to be different then put a LHSAA official at each host site and give them full authority to make these decisions.
Also, it was a 1-0 game, he took a chance playing the 5th inning with Mamou, as home team, that the rain could have caused his teams some
errors and allowed Mamou to score the game tying or winning runs? But once the infield is soaked the tarp
aint coming out!

Is he the pitcher for Mamou?

Many Principal is the one who started all the split BS so wouldn't expect anything else from them.

I was driving back from Shreveport Saturday around this time and I can tell you that with the wind that was blowing (easily 30 MPH with gusts in the 40s+) that it would have been irresponsible to attempt a tarp pull. That shite is dangerous in that kind of wind and I don't care what you are putting on the tarp to weigh it down, it isn't going to hold. Now you have introduced projectiles into the equation.
