Any issues with storing in Coinbase Wallet? I understand they are noncustodial. What options are there for cold storage? Is that hardware based or are there cold storage services?

Someone can correct me, but I think CB is an actual, regulated bank. You have FDIC insurance on a CB account.

The problems with CB involve the high fees in transferring cryptos compared to other options, but if you're just HODLing, then CB is as safe as it gets for a third party.

I think that only applies to USD deposited onto CB. Your crytpo tokens are not insured. I could be wrong, but that' what I remember.

That's why I said I could be wrong.

He’s right about the USD bit, but I also remember them updating their terms of use to say in the event of bankruptcy any assets you host with them would be considered their property for the sake of the bankruptcy proceedings, or something to that effect. Didn’t give me happy feelings that they were a viable place to keep my property long term.

So the only way to have liquid crypto assets, is to keep them on an exchange, where you might lose your liquid assets?

well it isn’t the only way, nor is Coinbase the only viable exchange.

A desktop software suite like BISQ lets you transact BTC for fiat peer to peer through a decentralized service, for example.

You can still keep it pretty liquid with hardware wallets. I have my metamask linked to my ledger wallet. All I need to do is connect my ledger to sign transactions.

Only on the USD in your CB account. Nothing else

I’m just trying to time my buys on ETH and SOL… this honestly my first bear market that I’m trying to play in.

If only I had more $ right now.

Add HEX to that. HEX has their community locked in for 15 year stakes. That's a token that's never going away.

I'm now 100% off CEXs. Not looking good this morning with 3AC.

This could completely blow up all the major crypto lending companies. Celsius may just be the surface of the issues

This week is an absolute shite show. But make no mistake about it, decisions made now are what seperate the men from the boys.

I am starting my BTC purchases today and will increase drastically if we go under 15k

just waiting on my whitelisted address on Coinbase to clear so I can move the last of my BTC buys from that platform and I'll be in the same boat, sans 1 ETH I was stupid enough to stake with Coinbase. Not a huge loss, even if everything went tits up.

Are you moving to ledger or some other wallet? I plan on scooping up some more BTC over the next few weeks/months and trying to figure out where to store it. Are most people moving to ledger drives now?

Despite what they said, I was able to instantly transfer last night, even to new addresses I hadn't ever used before.
