Find a local roaster. Buy them freshly roasted.

This is more important than the brand.

Congregation Coffee Gallup Blend (out of New Orleans) was great. It is meant as an espresso blend. I have an aeropress and used that with it. Coffee was incredible. That stuff will keep you wired, however.

Once i ran out, i got some Cafaciteaux Malawi blend and it is pretty damn good as well.

Orleans Coffee (used to be called Orleans Coffee Exchange) is the goat. They service most of the high end restaurants here, and they recently started putting it on the shelves at some Rouses.

I have been buying from them online for a few years now. They have a fantastic selection, and they roast and ship as you order it. Can't beat that.

If you don't have a burr grinder that'll make the grounds evenly coarse you should have them grind it too. Nice big grounds and no dust makes for the best French pressed coffee.
