If you don't know, it probably can't be explained to you. How about you just ponder this: The Taliban removed, blew up, and destroyed historical symbols they did not agree with. Don't be like the Taliban.

It means that you can't just erase the parts of history you don't agree with. Black history is tied to southern history, the good and the bad of it. You can't erase parts of it without erasing the foundations of the black experience and history. How does the story of slavery get told without the Civil War? It would be like trying to discuss the Civil Rights era without mentioning segregation and Jim Crow.

The right side of history is the unabridged version, it's really not that difficult. That definition does not include your agreement with events only that it is in fact "history".

Real simple concept.

Not every black person allows the liberals to keep them enslaved by their twisted ideology.

Think about it:

What's happening in New Orleans is very similar to what AQ did in Afghanistan with the old Buddhas (priceless works of art destroyed because intolerant religious bigots didn't think it was "appropriate"), or ISIS in Palmyra.

You can't pretend shite didn't happen because it makes you uncomfortable. Jefferson Davis, Robert E. Lee and PGT Beauregard are legitimate American historical figures. However flawed you might think they are, particularly Lee and Beauregard were powerful figures of reconciliation after the war.

So, when the day comes that someone decides that MLK's accomplishments are overshadowed by his womanizing, perhaps not 100% of his post-graduate work was his own and/or his sketchy ties to Communist-funded organizations, then, "frick it. Take it down" - are you going to be fine with that? Or are you hoping a bunch of white folks are on the "right side of history" and point out that - just maybe, there is a reason to leave the remembrances in place and put them into proper context? So folks can maybe have a conversation about what actually happened?

At least that's what I infer from her statement.
