Thinking about doing a family vacation to Tokyo. Not too long. Any must do's? Must see's? Thoughts? Our youngest is 11 years old.

Consider going somewhere a bit less oppressively urban. Somewhere like Kyoto, Nara, Fukuoka etc. The real Japan is the outlying villages around the major cities, the beautiful seaside or mountain villages with temples and quaint ryokans. Imho, Tokyo gets monotonous after about three days. It's too crowded and every intersection looks the same.

2-3 days is enough there, spend most of your time in Kyoto as it is way better. Also rail system is awesome and very easy to get to destination cities within a couple hours

Yes, went twice.
Hamarikyu Gardens is really pretty since it's a great balance or urban/japanese garden. Odaiba is really neat for walking, the mall, and also views of Tokyo skyline
