It's almost comical how when the right says anything...anything at all the left comes out totally against it. Then when the left says anything...anything at all...the right comes out against it. It doesn't matter what it is..the other side is against it.

Yes, violence will shift support for your cause to the center no matter if your cause is extremely leftist or right....violence is a bad idea.
That being said do not discount the ability of leftists and those on the right to instigate violence in order to further their own cause....knowing that is a great way to get the middle off the fence and on your side it has and will be used to do just that....
And finally opposition to fascism ALWAYS ends up in serious violence...because fascists want violence....I can't think of a single fascist movement in the history of the world that didn't end in serious violence and bunches of deaths if the fascists gained any legitimacy....
