I always laugh when I hear people talking about an outright ban on firearms. There is no way to enforce it and any attempts to do so would result in nationwide resistance.

I also don't believe most law enforcement or military would turn on their own citizens for owning firearms, regardless of law.

If you do not think it can happen, think back to Katrina. NOPD was searching homes and disarming citizens illegally. I remember an elderly lady was tackled and her revolver seized because she showed it to police to prove her feeling of safety. As I recall a civil suit was filed against the city. Someone wrote a book about it. Gordon Hutichison maybe?

Any and all left wing nuts will turn on family, friends and neighbors. They'll do so cheerfully. Another reason to hate them and the reason that we'll eventually have to destroy them.
