You do realize that the CNN report and this article aren't mutually exclusive, right?

CNN article:

quote:

After a review of the same intelligence reports brought to light by House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes, both Republican and Democratic lawmakers and aides have so far found no evidence that Obama administration officials did anything unusual or illegal, multiple sources in both parties tell CNN.

Sounds like there's an investigation that, so far, has found nothing bad for Rice.

Has anybody else noticed the following phenomenon?

Namely, that there are posters here who are still starting threads about Trump/Russia, even though they can't give us any evidence to support the charge AFTER ONE YEAR of the media & others looking into it.

SIMULTANEOUSLY, tbase same people don't want to touch the Obama/Rice/Farkas/FISA situation, which has come to light only in recent days.

Anybody else noticing this?

It is a shame the House Democrats made the investigation into a partisan side show.

You don't even have enough intellectual curiosity to ask why the President's National Security Advisor just happened to be looking at intel related to Trump in the first place?

Remember , the National Security Advisor is NOT a criminal investigator, even if she had just happened to have came upon this intel and thought "oh a crime may have been committed here" the correct procedure would have been for her to pass it on to the FBI and let THEM handle it. They handle criminal inquiries into matters of national security and American citizens, not the White House , and in fact as a political move she should have wanted to keep the White House as far away from any investigation as possible in order to minimize charges of interference in the investigation.

She dug into this for political reasons, PERIOD , and any rational person would be bothered by that regardless of who it was done to, or who did it.

This is the raison d'et for the DEM party and its acolytes in the media. This is the true way as they see it. This is pursuing the greater good. This is not wrong. This is what all good practioneers should be doing.

Nunes got screwed. He needs to stay out so the Dems don't say it is partisan.

How in the world can you possibly come to any conclusion about the appropriateness or the motivations of Susan Rice's actions without, at the very least, knowing the substance of the intelligence reports in question? The truth is that you so desperately want there to be wrongdoing that you are assuming there was wrongdoing.

There's currently a bipartisan investigation into the matter, an action I fully support. You should probably wait until that investigation is over before you start portending.

I fully explained how I asbolutey know for fact that Rice's actions were politically motivated.

She was NOT a criminal investigator. PERIOD. It wasn't in her purview to investigate any Americans for conspiring against this country with foreigners. THat is the job of the FBI, and there is a very good reason they operate independently of any political offices.

So, even if Trump himself was caught on the phone with Putin making plans to take over the USG is entirely irrelevant to the discussion about whether or not Susan Rice should have been digging through that shite and unmasking Americans.

It could both be true that Susan Rice is a pile of shite who misused her position for political reasons and that someone within the Trump campaign is guilty of a crime in association with Russia.

It is entirely untrue that Susan Rice had a legitimate reason to be viewing that intel and or unmasking Americans involved in it.

You actually believe that if the National Security Advisor sees an intelligence report about an American attempting a coup of the US Government it would be inappropriate for that Advisor to ask for that American to be unmasked and inform the President (the leader of the US military no less!) of the upcoming coup attempt?

Do you not understand how unhinged that position sounds?

Is this something that shouldn't happen after what was said about her?

It is something they have to look at to cover their arse.

They may find something, but don't be surprised if they don't.
