The 2001 World Series is the greatest World Series ever played

One and a half months after 9/11. The World Trade Center was still burning a few miles away. First time MLB games were ever played in November. It went 7 games. Incredible storylines. Greatest first pitch in history. Byung-hyun Kim just blew another save. The Diamondbacks came back home and won a huge game 7.

Losing after 9/11 completely broke my heart.

1991, 2016 (and I'm sure there are some that I'm forgetting) were also incredible

2001-was an incredible series, especially with the events that preceeded it.
1993-was a good series, with perhaps one of the greatest moments ever (Carter's walkoff). Add to that Sean McDonough with one of my favorite television calls ever.
2016- was the most special. Easily. With the most incredible Game 7 ever.
Eta: Of course there are more, but off the top of my head for World Series I have watched, those three come to mind

1912, anyone?
Went 8 games due to one of the games ending in a tie and was punctuated by Fred Snodgrass' epic error in the 9th inning of game 8 that led to the Red Sox's series-winning run.

Easily tGOAT.
Braves fans will try to tell you it's one of the 65 World Series they lost, though.

I didn't know Jeter was black until that World Series.

Didn't Luis win the HR derby and have the walk off hit in game 7?

2016 was incredible for the average fan as well as the two fan bases. One for the ages!!!

Yaeh, I'll take the series that took place ten years earlier.

2002 was pretty good too. Giants up 3 games to 2 and Barry Bonds hits a moon shot to put them up 5-0 in game 6. Angels come back to win 6-5 and go on to take the series in 7. I was at that game 6.
