Airlines can offer up to $1500 if you volunteer to give up your seat. Obviously their offer was cheap. I'm guessing they will pay a lot more in the settlement and lost business.

No he won't. It sucked and wasn't handled well..but the fact is that he agreed beforehand to a contract with the airline and refused to follow it.

A big one. frick United....they are almost as bad an airline as there is.

I don't know a lot about the incident other than supposedly they had a flight crew needing to get to wherever the flight was headed. Unless it was a small regional airport surely there was another airline heading to that location sooner or later? If it was a regional airport that may not have been the case...

I hate United. Almost as bad a US Airways. Give me Delta, South West or ANY of the low cost Allegiants / Spirits / Frontiers ANY time over United, American or USAirways...

Is US Airways still in business or are they American now? They used to always be the lowest cost carrier to Europe.....Charlotte to Frankfurt with a manageable layover in Amsterdam.....but good lord they are horrible...and of course the airport in Charlotte is a disaster as is Frankfurt....Lufthansa, Delta and either Turkish, british or air france for me to europe...
