This was a quote (or close to it) on ESPN two seasons ago, when everyone thought he was going to be fired if he lost the last game.

Why hasn't he been snatched up at any half arse decent school, like ESPN said he would?

Because at the time, it was popular for all the talking heads to call Miles a moron coach who wasted the talent he had one minute, then turn around and bash LSU for even considering firing such a fantastic coach the next.

Question: How do they actually "determine" if he's seeking employment? Like he just has to say yeah I'm looking for a job

Statement: Yeah he held the team back for years, but no need to beat a dead horse. LSU is on the come up. Put Les in the rear view

Half the pumpers said the same thing. Looks like Les wasn't as universally revered as we were all told the last 5 years.

I hate to admit I was happy that Les was coming back. I believe that he actually learned something coming that close to being canned. I also hate to say that ESPN was probably right if A&M was his last game. He would have been hired.

But last year we saw the same old offense and piss poor clock management. He learned absolutely nothing. It was painfully clear to the whole country that he had to go. No power 5 school will touch him.

Hope Les gets another job! He is a fantastic person, and every dollar he earns is a dollar LSU saves. But I don't think he wants to settle for a lesser job!

Yea, after all the talking heads and even Dick Satan came to his defense it became really obvious they were either fricking with LSU fans and laughing behind our backs or they were absolutely terrified of waking the sleeping giant and LSU football and its tiny market to be relevant again and analize the Ohio States, Notre Dames and Gumps of the world.

It means people like Rickdaddy were duped by Miles' record, but Miles' record wasn't a product of Miles, but instead a product of first Nick Saban and then later LSU and it's location with its excellent football facilities in a Mecca of recruiting. Les Miles was able to recruit so well, not because he was a great recruiter, but instead because he was at the flagship university of Louisiana and where so many great college football recruits grew up dreaming of one day playing for LSU.

Other people like me and people outside the university who didn't have their heads stuck so deep up Miles' arse could readily see that Les Miles was not a great coach by any stretch of the imagination and that he was just a very lucky individual that happened to be at the right place at the right time. Apparently, there were far more of us, than of them. At least outside of LSU.

I'm not saying that Miles was all bad because he did hire some pretty good assistant coaches especially on defense and at running back coach, as those parts of the program generally operated to full potential with the exception of that one year when Miles appointed those co-defensive coordinators. However, the other parts of the program, namely offense, where Miles focused most of his attention suffered more or less throughout his entire tenure at LSU.

Yet you have Miles' brown nosers arguing that Miles was a great coach based on his won/loss record, which was more a function of the LSU program, its marvelous facilities, and recruiting Mecca location, more than it was Les Miles. Not to mention, that half the time Les Miles couldn't even formulate a decent sentence. In fact, had we had a decent coach as opposed to Miles during that same tenure he was here, we would have easily won one, two, or more national championships. A lot of people don't want to believe it, but that's because they were duped by Miles record, which was a product of the program, and not Miles.

Once again it's been proven that the anti Miles posters are far more obsessed with Miles than the posters that are labeled" pro miles".
Do you see any pro miles" posters starting threads about Miles or bringing him up in threads that have nothing to do with Miles?

Because schools know he is a con man who will say anything to get a job, and that the game passed him up long ago.

Frankly, I wish he would've... lessen that buyout.

Still worth it IMHO. Time will tell if my opinion plays out to be worthwhile. Right now I'm in the "A New Hope" phase with Alleva + CEO + Thomas.
