If my wife hit me while drunk and I grabbed her and body-slammed her on the ground head first (while being caught on video), my arse would be ruined with the public. I'd be seen as a monster; a vile citizen and abusive husband.
If I remember correctly Ray Rice knocked his girl out after she hit him too (although it wasn't a brutal hit) before getting into that elevator.

I agree it was excessive but why do people resist? If you don't resist then they wont have an opportunity to use force.

Maybe she resisted because, although drunk, she knew that the people out of line and in the wrong was someone else besides her boyfriend. Maybe she was standing up for someone when no one else was.
Who the hell knows? What I do know is that her side of the story or his will not be shown in any good light. You resist the police you resist more than just the police. The police are the good lap dogs of politicians and businessmen as they protect their criminality (for businessmen who are criminals and I have known many). They will always protect their lap dogs and punish their dogs when they see fit.
Politicians will only allow their dogs to be put down when they see it beneficial to do so. Otherwise you are flucked. She is not wise enough yet to realize this reality and freaked up.

These cops put their lives on the line everyday. With the shite they've dealt with since last summer; I'm doubting any of them are thinking about much more than staying alive.
That's true. Do you think this girl was posing a lethal threat to the officer?
I mean if all they think about is staying alive, then they should be justified in every shoot, right? All that's required is to think the target is posing a lethal threat.

Where does all of this cop hate come from? Is this the new, cool, hip, and liberal thing to do?
Speaking personally, I don't "hate" the cops. I just wish they would stop using the populace as an ATM that they can withdraw from whenever they want.
Also, most seem to think they can use whatever force they want to make arrests without facing any consequences. Generally speaking they are right.

quote:Some people are stupid. And alcohol doesn't do anything to help them. But nowhere is it written that stupid people are free game for officers of the law. Cops are only supposed to do what's necessary to neutralize a threat and pacify a situation before handing suspects over to the criminal justice system for the adjudication of whatever accusations are leveled against them. Whipping arse and, heaven forbid, employing deadly force should be viewed as avenues of last resort--not perks of the job or an opportunity to blow off steam or a some simple expression of anger or rage.
I agree it was excessive but why do people resist?

So, the cop and woman were dating?
If a cop uses force now on a woman is it now domestic violence?
Please tell me this is now the argument.

That really wasn't as bad as y'all are making it out to be. He probably didn't realize how hard she would hit the ground. Y'all making it sound like he choked slammed her head first and curbed stomped her. Also, if a cop gives you an order, just do what he says. It makes for a much better experience and actually helps you in court.

Look, let's simplify your argument. You don't care because you don't think this will ever affect you or your family, because in your mind all cops are angels and all criminals are everyone else (but you and your family).
Correct?

DFuq you talking about?
You're right; because I don't raise trash for children.
They have values and respecting cops is one of them. So no, I don't raise my kids the way a mother in the inner city would.
So, no. We will NEVER have to deal with this.

Nah man. I don't like to hit women. I just recognize not to hit cops. But I like how you try to say I beat women because you're losing the arguement.
Your trashiness is really showing today, Mr Internet Badass.

I bet they are good little sheep that have no idea of their rights and will do every little thing a cop tells them. I bet they think cops always must tell the truth too. Hopefully it serves them well.

I don't care what I sound like. I am not going to hit a cop like this girl did. I'm not going to go to jail or get body slammed because of it.
But you keep #resisting because you once stood in a BLM protest.

It does. I live in a good town with good cops. We know almost all of them. I guess being sheeple is following the law, having family values, and respecting that law?
But again, we're not the ones going to jail.

The cop gets hit (how hard we don't know). The woman starts babbling; the cop gets angry (yes they aren't robots; not yet anyways) and loses his temper and slams her down.
Ray Rice gets hit; Woman starts babbling; Ray Rice lays her out.
Two different avenues on how we came to both women getting to the ground, but the variables are both the same.
Your reasoning about dating is irrelevant. The misuse of force in both situations were enacted because of anger, plain and simple. Emotions drew out that response. There was no threat. That trick was just showing up some cops and by God no woman is going to make the cops look bad in front of the ladies by god.

She should have done as she was told, but that doesn't justify excessive force. I mean, since she was out of line and all what else should the officer have been able to do?
