saw a recent documentary on it. Basically talking to Billy Duffy only. He said how they went to the studio with Ruben for the first day. He discussed sonics with them, and how they did the Love album. Got all the sounds with a hollow body guitar and effects. Basically he said "thats nice".
Pointed and said "there's the Les Paul and theirs a Marshall, off you go." I'm paraphrasing but that was about it.
Amazing how a band that knew they could play that hard made what became some hybrid dance album. Sanctuary and Rain were on dance club rotation everywhere for about 10 plus years.
Love Removal Machine is almost their cliche' "Stairway" type song, but it is damned awesome!!

She Sells Sanctuary rocks and it always will. That song is timeless.
