How does this not destroy businesses in Louisiana...and no federal income tax deduction. Great so we are paying taxes on taxes.

professional services not taxed; that's probably why the proposed rate is so much higher than ohio's 00.26%

Very few states actually offer this deduction. Most states, you can't deduct federal income tax paid.

Tell those businesses that leave because of this that they can come to Alabama.

So far... and I have the right to change judgement as more details come out... but JBE just basically took the worst parts of the Ohio CAT and applied them to LA.

Keeping the CIT, even with a reduced rate, and adding a CAT is insane, unless, unless, paying CAT gives you a nonrefundable, non-carryover credit against CIT.

well frick i guess i heard him wrong, had the stream up in another window

i thought he said they wouldn't and mentioned engineers, architects, etc as example. tax business services is one of the main ways this type of tax produces pyramiding, which is one of its main problems that economists point to

ideally you want to focus consumption taxes on the final product only. anyway i guess we'll see the details in the bill. i saw it reported that a Rep Jones will sponsor it

pyramiding,

Everything about this type of tax produces pyramiding.

Unless... you are a vertically integrated company... which is exactly what the large, "tax-evading" companies are. They must be laughing their rear off right now.

just wanted to say Thanks Republicans again.

They're going to look like fricking idiots by 2019 after four years of tax and spend out of our asses JBE and they voted for that shite after having hissy fits about hookers and the GOP candidate giving them bad fee fees.

Have you noticed how those JBE voting republicans don't even show their face on this board anymore?

Problem is that's not what's happening here.

Hell, it isn't even going to pay off the debt, it's just getting as much money as they can to get more people on the dole and grow and maintain a large state government that democrats like JBE and Alario want.

It's not going towards roads, or even the debt.

We're almost halfway to 2019 and we can make the accidental governor and his tax and spend bullshite disappear.

It's not going to improvements, or the debt, this is true.

But it's also not going to increased spending, either.

This is basically trying to fix the structural deficit, and replace the extra penny.
