I've been here 5 years and woke up last Friday of the month with a commission check in the bank not knowing how that number was reached . My pay stub just shows commission minus taxes .. so I figured after 5 years maybe I should ask questions.

Try to get the paperwork first. Say something like you are working with a financial planner or something and need to answer some of his questions.
