They're not putting a beer garden in the stadium club that already sells beer. Or in the suites that are stocked with beer.

What the blazes are you talking about?

Amen. I feel like the concept isn't that hard to grasp.

Going to paste this in here since my previous comment will be buried at the bottom of page 3:

"I feel like you're missing the point of the beer garden. Suites and stadium club already have access to beer. Just like with the stadium club and suites, they're planning to create it as a "technically separate" entity. You even quoted that phrase in your previous comment."

I think you are reading it wrong. They are trying to get permission from the SEC to put it in the stadium, somewhere below the club/suite levels, where the rest of the stadium can enjoy it...

I like this move, it will be a small step in the right direction, but I can't imagine a scenario where I go to the beer garden. You would miss alot of gametime action in line buying an overpriced beer and drinking it there because I can't return to my seat. I think I'll just stick with my flask and enjoy the game in the stands.

One Report mention this ..

"LSU currently allows for beer sales in the club and suite areas of Tiger Stadium, and the proposed beer garden likely would be located between the club and suite levels."

If this is the case, once again the Regular Season Ticket Holder will benefit NONE for a "Beer Garden."
Most likely not allowing the beer to be brought to your seats. Also would'nt be surprise if it cost Extra to gain access to the Beer garden. But this is a early observation. We Don't know the specifics. But knowing LSU they will milk this for all it's worth.

Im simply saying that it isnt currently allowed. I think this is getting pushed forward sooner bc Joe will put it in the suites/club level first.

I dont see the SEC making a random exception for us.

To my knowledge there is no law by the SEC saying you can't have beer sales in the stadiums. I always thought it was a gentlemans agreement among the schools not to sell it. All it would take is one school to say frick it and offer beer and it would be a domino affect with others quickly following.

don't know about others, but by game time (night games) I'm pretty much done with drinking and already sloshed.

This concept might work better for a day game.

Twice I made it to the game last season rt at kick off because I was coming from out of town. In those situations, yes it would be nice to have 2-3 beers while I sit there for 4 hours after sitting in 3 hours of traffic.

Did you read the article? They specifically mention it not being in the club/suite levels. They also give the basis for having it by describing why alcohol sales are allowed in the club/suite levels. If it's a "technically separate entity," it's exempt from the SEC ban on alcohol sales.

The SEC prohibits its 14 member schools from selling alcohol at athletic events, which is why beer sales at LSU home games are only allowed in the stadium club and suites, technically separate structures from Tiger Stadium.

They can make it work, you can have it set up like at the pels games.

Just need security out in front.

Or, they can stop with the, you can't reenter an sec game bullshite. Or do like any pro stadium does and have sections where you can leave, and come back.

They're going to make it a "separate entity" like the suites, but it will be accessible to all fans.

It's not that hard to understand.

That's what I'm guessing it will be. Basically a bar inside the stadium. Just like bars elsewhere (outside of Louisiana ), you can't leave the premises with an alcoholic beverage.

Many pros to this.

Maybe.

Less binge drinking and more people in the stands towards the end of games.

Neither of these will be one.

I've explained that to him 3 times. He's not grasping the concept.

Research has proven it results in less binge drinking.

Far fewer people bring in liquor and far fewer people get as drunk as possible before the game so it lasts the entire time.

You're flat out wrong. Google it.

Any time this subject was brought up on After Further Review, Moscona was adamant about it not being an SEC rule. Somebody is wrong here. Either Moscona or all the people in this thread saying it's an SEC rule.

What makes the most sense to me is to get South Stadium Dorm torn down (which can be done without screwing up the stadium structure too badly) and putting in a beer garden there with large screen TV sets...the kitchens in the stadium addition could provide food support...

Instead of "meet at the airplane" its "meet at the beer garden".

These kids have no idea how great they have it!

In LA?...In BR?

Far fewer people bring in liquor

I imagine this is probably true.

Again how were these studies conducted?....how many college students were involved? How many Louisianans were involved?

You're flat out wrong.

I hope so because if people don't care about getting shite faced drunk anymore I'd assume we could get more noon games.

Google it.

All the people in this thread are quoting the article, so I guess it's journalist vs. journalist.

considering that the airplane has been moved...and too many people tailgate around the missile to make it a good meeting place
