The company doesn't treat me differently than a CEO for some purposes.

The state is free to offer whatever incentives it wants. If you drop this you would just see compensation going up to offset the liability.

What company has taxing power?

Then we can simply vote them out. The state is not "free" to do anything in the long run. It routinely tramples the tax payers for the benefit of the political powerful and for the benefits of itself but ultimately we can change government.

Should a particular race not pay income tax because they are of that race? then why should a class a workers not pay income tax because they retired somewhere the rest of us did not?

State retirees that expect to be treated differently than private retirees from an income tax standpoint are really greedy, small minded individuals.
