Pretty crazy how in my lifetime the NFL has gone from wanting to keep arms length from gambling to moving a team to Las Vegas to presumably maximize the benefit of gambling (otherwise what's the point its a small market).
Its a popular market. And the Las Vegas valley metropolitan area has over 2,000,000 people, which just happens to be larger than the New Orleans metropolitan area with 1,250,000 people. The city of Las Vegas has more people than the city of New Orleans as well.

Dolphins are against it because Miami was a top destination for a road trip before today and it will be Vegas once that stadium opens
If that is the reason why didn't the Saints oppose it?

Nice to know they stuck it to that 90 year old toolbag Sheldon adelson who thought he ran Vegas and killed the deal by pulling out.

I hope they go by Las Vegas Raiders and not just Vegas like that new NHL team is doing

It is, already decided that, Las not just Vegas.

so the real winner in this is the Oakland A's who can now get their own stadium and be the only team in town

Which sport will likely expand to Vegas next, MLB or NBA?
MLB would have to require an enclosed, temperature-controlled field due to the Vegas summers.

Those Cheerleader tryouts should be televised as must see tv with the amount of skanks in Vegas.

Yeah, I agree.
All the non-summer sports before MLB (if ever).

NFL is so seedy...this is perfect. They pretended for long enough that they don't like gambling, even though that and fantasy are the only things keeping it on top. Just embrace being the Death Star!

I don't know if that is really a defense, the Saints have one of the smallest markets for a NFL team. If the NFL started from scratch I am pretty sure NOLA wouldn't have a team just like a from scratch SEC wouldn't have two Mississippi teams in it.
Media markets bigger than Las Vegas (40th) without a NFL team:
-Orlando (19th)
-Sacramento (20th)
-St. Louis, MO (21st)
-Portland, OR (24th)
-San Diego (29th)
-Hartford-New Haven, CT (30th)
-Columbus, OH (31st)
-San Antonio, TX (32nd)
-Salt Lake City, UT (34th)
-Milwaukee, WI (35th)
-Austin, TX (39th)
Some of those are obviously off the list due to competition from nearby NFL teams (like Austin or Orlando). But some are obviously larger markets than Las Vegas without even a shot at a NFL team.
It is very obvious that the NFL is moving this direction because they have discovered that gambling on NFL games and pay-for fantasy sites that are basically gambling lead to a lot of ratings and engagement among NFL fans.
Twenty years ago the NFL felt it could do without that engagement to stay pure, but today they want to squeeze every bit of blood from the stone so we get a NFL team in Las Vegas over Portland or Salt Lake City. Add in the fact that casino money could help fund a stadium and suddenly a Las Vegas market that the Big 12 didn't think was big enough to expand into is being expanded into by the NFL. The real motives are clear.
What it tells me is that the modern NFL is basically a bubble and it won't be long until it pops. Hell looking at ratings last year tell we we have probably already seen "Peak NFL."

I really don't feel bad for Oakland, they never really tried to work w/ the Raiders to get them a new stadium
