This is why meaningless wedge issues like gay marriage or abortion or supporting Israel are so prominent, to distract their constituents from their legislative failures.
Yeah voters will get mad that their rep was not serious about repealing Obamacare but come re election time they will just say the right things like I oppose abortion and cruise to re election. Look at John McCain. If he can continue to get re elected we are screwed
Most of the GOP is no different than the democrats and don't want to actually repeal Obamacare. Their donors won't allow it. So they have to pretend like they want to repeal it while at the same time supporting a replacement bill that pleases the donors. A full repeal won't please the donors so they don't do it
I am telling you. When this bill fails we will see a lot of Republicans throw in the towel on Obamacare. Yeah their base will be mad temporarily but come 2018 they will still manage to get re elected anyway

Do you think it could be the case that they don't really want to repeal because their constituents actually don't want them to? A lot of people in the south get those subsidies.

Virtue signaling on both sides of the aisle. Cory "I support abortion, so pay no attention to the pharma dick sucking" Booker and Paul "Gays shouldn't get married, and here's a shitty healthcare bill" Ryan.

There was another thread with "sources inside the White House" saying if the bill fails then Trump is ready to move on to tax reform.
