Trumpcare: Kudos to Most Posters Here

Judging by the threads started by the Obamaphone Trumpkins calling people cucks for not taking every inch of law Trump has down their throat, most posters here are staying ideologically consistent instead of going full Trumptard.
This bill is a steaming pile of shite that is every BIT the swamp that Trump was elected to get rid of. It very literally might actually be worse than Obamacare. They must think people are stupid to call this Repeal and Replace.
The appropriate move by Trump imo would have been to come up with a true free market solution which had thorough fiscal conservative credentials and push it hard. If it doesnt get passed? Go after the holdouts RABIDLY.....hold them up as examples of the sludge you're trying to clean out of congress and go after them hard in midterms. In other words ride the momentum that swept you into office. I can't help but think this repeal in name only weakens him politically after months of promising real action in this area.
All that being said, the vast majority of avid Trump supporters have called this spade a spade from the jump and that's something I absolutely respect. Sure there are still about 10 posters whose wives are being fricked by Trump as we speak, but those types seem to be dwindling.
Cheers to those choosing principle over politics!

I think the bill sucks and proves what many of us said during the primaries and election and that is that the GOP wants Obamacare to stay in place, and the whole "repeal and replace" mindset is that the GOP might repeal Obamacare but would replace it with something just as bad only more Chamber of Commerce friendly, a bill that pleases their donors
At the same time i fully expect that if this bill fails, many Republicans will throw their hands up and say "we tried but this issue is too complex, obamacare is law of the land so we might as well just accept it and focus on making it better oh and vote for me in 2018 so we can get right on that"

The bill could be better for sure, especially when they have had 7 years to build consensus. That is my greatest disappointment.
You are fighting divergent constituencies within the (R) on healthcare; however, this is one of three (3) key (R) voter issues that you need to be on the right side of (1) Obamacare repeal (2) immigration/terror and (3) tax cuts.
I don't know to what extent yet, but I do anticipate some consequences in the next election for the (R)s that impede progress, stall, support establishment positions, etc.

you really think that getting rid of pre existing conditions coverage is going to be popular? because that's the hill this divide between republicans is being fought on. trump wants to keep pre existing coverage protection the freedom caucus is against that. 50% of americans have coverage through our employers. we all have pre existing condition coverage. 30% of americans have medicare, they have pre existing condition coverage. the only people without it would be those who are purchasing insurance in the individual market.
do you think politically that's a winner?
as for the free market in heath care, tell me the free market case for spending 1.4 million dollars on a pre mature baby spending 8 weeks in a neonatal intensive care unit. there isn't one and i'm not ragging on the free market it just doesn't apply in that case. by the way it's not that the cost would be lower without insurance neonatal intensive care wouldn't exist with out insurance. the practice of neonatal intensive care wouldn't exist without it, it would have remained outside the sphere of affordability.

I have high hopes for his administration, that he will drain the swamp
but my hope and faith is placed on the movement, not in the personality, he has to prove himself everyday
this health care bill has been a debacle and Paul Ryan has acted like a chump...maybe the bill will be rescued in phases 2 and 3

He fricked up by promising to repeal and replace as soon as he took office, he should have let the ACA continue it's death spiral and in the mean time start implementing the rest of his agenda. He could have dealt with health care in early 2018, which would have given his administration plenty of time to think this shite through.

The only good bill for health insurance would be to abolish it completely.
Prices would go down a ton since the vast majority of people couldn't afford it. Sure, there would be some people that couldn't afford treatment, but that is the cost of you not having any community to help you. Or maybe just make it so obese people can't have insurance until they lose their weight. That would also drop costs a ton.
