Socialist city suffering from socialist policies

I was there last week. At least they had a rideaustin app which was exactly like uber but it kept asking if I wanted to upcharge to give to charity. No, you dirty hippies, I'm not giving to your "charity"

I was under the impression that they've been out for bit. I was there in July and uber wasn't allowed to operate in the city.

Hey, let's leave California because it's too overbearing and move to a new place and try to make it just like the place we left because it was too often overbearing

the political campaign for the uber/lyft was the absolute worst.

During the fight over the proposed regulations, spokesmen for Uber and Lyft argued that the onerous fingerprint requirements would create needless ‘friction,’ raise response time for riders, and also shrink their pool of rideshare drivers. Opponents also warned the regulation would disproportionately impact people of color, due to the fact that it includes arrest records rather than just convictions.
Anyone getting turned down for that kind of job due to their record is probably being done a favor anyway.

Any town that forces out uber, lyft, or any other similar service clearly does not have its citizens' best interest and safety in mind
especially a big college town where drunk driving is more likely to occur due to kids being stupid

I have some friends that live out that way, apparently a bunch of California hippies are migrating in huge numbers and driving up housing prices astronomically.

Good. frick them. Maybe they can hire the illegals they're sheltering to drive taxis

The problem with liberal cities is that libs will listen to any kook who comes along and then implement those crazy ideas without thinking, apparently. I hate that Austin is like that now, 20 years ago Austin was a blast.

Another loss for pretentious liberal idiots. Who would've thought?
