Nice suggestion. There are so many spectacular places that AREN'T national parks.
I'm not a fan of Yellowstone just based on crowds alone.

Yep. We hit the Medicine Bow range after Yellowstone and that's certainly one reason I liked the Medicine Bow range so much. The only place we saw people at all was the main trailhead and there was plenty of parking available. One woman told us that the range continues down into Colorado and it's really nice there was well.
