Gone Baby Gone (spoiler obviously)
- the police can't find the body so they just assume she's dead, and we're supposed to believe it too. It's a facking quarry, clear water, no currents, limited area. If you can't find a body in that you are a moron. So I knew she was alive, and everybody in the movie was stupid (aside from Morgan Freeman obviously).

In 'The Martian' Matt Damon's character should have been able to replant new crops based on what he established by the first Mars crop cycle in the movie.

Not really a flaw but in The Purge: Election Year when they find those dead bodies in the dumpster in the beginning I wondered why they didn't just hide in there until the night passed over.
Flaw: TMNT April calls Fenwick from a payphone in the sewer and he answers knowing it's her.

Can we link the "over analyze Home Alone thread"? It would be perfect for this one

When villains/enemies capture James Bond, they never shoot him in the head.
I understand the impulse to kill someone in a slow and painful manner, but if you're a brilliant leader, why not supervise the process so that you can ensure your henchmen act as they are trained in the event things go wrong? Shouldn't someone have a gun in hand?
Why not provide henchmen with higher quality marksmanship training? If you're an evil multi-billionaire, shouldn't this be a negligible expense?
Why wouldn't you strip him naked before having him lowered into a pit of sharks?
If you're going to torture him for information, why not start cutting off toes and fingers? For a guy known for his sexual prowess, why not start cutting some balls? Is genital mutilation really off the table? I know it was tried a couple of times (Goldfinger and Casino Royale), but neither effort was well thought out.
If you want a glorious way to watch him suffer and die,why not douse with gasoline and light it?

Why didn't Froto just jump on the back on one of those giant eagles and drop the ring into the fiery pit?

I don't remember the exact science or know if it's correct, but they explained in the book why he couldn't start over.

Fredo can't control the eagles.
And Sauron would have noticed a giant eagle flying toward Mt. Doom.

I think the gasses required to create a sustainable growing environment burned off in the blowout.

Something like that. I think a lot of the bacteria required for fertile soil died and he would have run out of food before he could grow more potatoes so there was no point in starting over.

God damn it. I typed Frodo, but my phone changed it to Fredonia. I went back and shortened it to Fredo.
